Don’t Judge a Mother

A mother nurtures the child, but a personality is shaped by society.

Before judging her appearance, pause and ask yourself. How many invisible tasks has she already completed today?.

That judgment is unfair.

That judgment is unnecessary.

That judgment is cruel.

That judgment is lazy.

And for mothers, it never stops.

For a mother,

it becomes inescapable.

It becomes unacceptable.

A mother often steps outside without being “ready.” Not because she doesn’t care,

but because she is already tired before the day even begins.

Her hair may be untied, her clothes simple, her face without makeup. What people don’t see is that her hands have already worked endlessly in the kitchen, at the sink, folding clothes, cleaning messes, packing bags, wiping tears, calming fears, and attending to children who depend on her for everything.

She hardly gets time to look at herself in the mirror.

By the time she thinks of getting ready,

someone needs food, someone needs help, someone is calling her name.

And when she steps outside like this,

unfinished, tired, distracted.

the world stares.

Whispers.

Judges.

Don’t judge a mother.

She is not careless.

She isn’t undone.

She is carrying a world.

She is exhausted from holding everything together.

Be kind.

Sometimes kindness is the only rest a mother gets.
